If These Walls Could Talk is our way of looking back at the people, moments and stories that have filled Cotton Court over the years.
Because when we started going back through old photos, we realised just how much has happened in these rooms.
People have found jobs here. Businesses have taken their first steps here. Ideas that once existed only in someone’s head have been stood up and pitched to a room full of people. New skills have been learnt, qualifications earned and introductions made that have led to something more.
We’ve seen nurses and paramedics preparing for careers where other people will depend on them. Entrepreneurs have shared the mistakes, risks and difficult decisions behind their success. Politicians have faced the questions local people wanted answered. And charities have brought people together, raised money and given a voice to people who aren’t always heard.
We’ve watched the building fill with Christmas presents for children and young people across Lancashire. We’ve seen people arrive for their first day at work and businesses take on their first members of staff.
And then there’s everything that happens on an ordinary working day. The businesses that call Cotton Court home, working alongside each other, conversations over coffee, plenty of laughs, ideas and initiatives shared, introductions made. Some have been here for years, others are just getting started.
And amongst all of that, we’ve had band rehearsals, gaming tournaments, chess, laughter yoga, filming, photoshoots and plenty of things you probably wouldn’t immediately associate with Cotton Court.
Some moments have been significant, some have been funny, and plenty were probably just another day at Cotton Court at the time.
But put them all together, and they probably tell the story of Cotton Court better than we could.
Cotton Court is still home to businesses, meetings, training, events and plenty of things we probably haven’t thought of yet.
So whether you’re looking for a home for your business, somewhere to bring your team together, a regular base for training or a space for an idea you’ve been working on, we’d love to hear what you’re planning.
