Preston Partnership Event Wrap-up
As Cotton Court Business Centre, we were thrilled to host the landmark #InTheCity event by Preston Partnership on February 22, 2024. This significant gathering brought together over 80 key figures from the public and private sectors to discuss vital topics such as Preston’s evolving role in Lancashire’s devolution deal, development updates, and our role in fostering a collaborative community spirit.
At the heart of the event, John Chesworth, the chair of Preston Partnership, emphasized the need for stronger ties between public and private sectors to spur investment and shape future projects. He proudly mentioned the partnership’s success in securing substantial funding for Preston’s development, including the Harris Quarter Investment Programme and the Shared Prosperity Fund, showcasing our city’s ambition and potential.
The event also shed light on Preston’s pivotal role in Lancashire’s devolution, with Andy Walker and Pete Thomas from Lancashire County Council outlining the benefits of the proposed devolution deal. This deal aims to enhance adult education, support local businesses, and improve sustainable transport, signaling a transformative phase for Preston and the wider region.
Our business development manager, Beckie Joyce, concluded the event with an inspiring call to action, inviting attendees to join the partnership and contribute to Preston’s growth. Beckie’s message was clear: our collective effort and unity are key to shaping a prosperous future for Preston.
Moreover, Beckie highlighted upcoming events, including the Preston Quarter Club and #InnovationInTheCity, emphasizing Cotton Court Business Centre’s commitment to supporting such initiatives that drive progress and collaboration in our city.
