LEAP Lancashire Engaging Apprentices Programme

Are you an apprentice working in a Lancashire-based SME? Are you a workplace mentor working in a Lancashire-based SME? Are you an SME in Lancashire aspiring to recruit an apprentice?

LEAP offers FREE coaching, development, and training opportunities to maximise the impact of apprenticeships in Lancashire’s SMEs. They offer complementary and targeted opportunities to enable employers, apprentices, and their mentors to get the most from their apprenticeship investment.

Workplace mentors, as well as staff that support apprentices (whether UCLan apprentices or at another training provider), are entitled to attend – so whether there’s an employee within your business who works in finance that will process the apprentice’s wages, whether there is someone in HR who will support the apprentice’s work and conditions or whether there’s a specific member of staff, which could be you, that will help the apprentice on a day-to-day basis. It’s accessible to all.

6^th Sept – Foundations in Leadership, Theory & Practice – SHOUT Network, Preston (online if required)

18^th Sept – Time & Workload Management – UCLan Burnley (online if required)

18^th Sept (pm) – Presenting with Impact – Preston (new)

18^th Sept (am) – Managing your Well-being in Work and Life– Preston (new)

26^th Sept – Coaching & Mentoring Conversations – Online

2^nd Oct – Advanced Communications Skills – UCLan West Leigh (online if required) (new)

4^th Oct (am) – MS Word – Fundamentals and Styles  – Online (new)

4^th Oct (pm) – MS Word – Layout and Referencing – Online (new)

5^th Oct (am) – Excel Foundation – Online (new)

5^th Oct (pm) – Excel Intermediate  – Online (new)

10^th Oct – Personal Leadership through MBTI – UCLan West Leigh, including an individual profile report from the MBTI company

16^th Oct – Understanding and Managing Conflict – UCLan West Leigh (online if required)

18-19^th Oct – Project Management – Details coming soon – please contact us if you are interested in project management training.

Ongoing – 1-1 Career, Business, Life Coaching – Online or face to face. Meetings are arranged for mutual convenience.

Eligibility

To be eligible, participants must be:

• Aged 16 or over
•  Eligible to live and work in the UK
• Employed within a Lancashire-based* SME**
•  An apprentice or aspiring to be an apprentice
• Mentoring, managing /supporting apprentices or aspiring to develop the skills to do so
