At Cotton Court Business Centre, we are thrilled to share that this year’s Christmas gift appeal, in partnership with Barnardo’s Lancashire, has seen over 2,000 gifts donated to ensure children across Preston and Lancashire have a special present to unwrap on Christmas Day.
Now in its 12th year, the appeal has grown from strength to strength, with the total value of gifts donated estimated at around £12,000. The generosity of businesses, schools, and individuals from across the city has been truly inspiring.
Debbie Nolan-Plunkett, assistant director at Barnardo’s, shared:
“This appeal, organised by Cotton Court, brings the spirit of Christmas alive for young people in our accommodation across Lancashire. It allows them to experience the excitement of the season and ensures families facing tough times, especially with the cost of living rises, can still find joy during the holidays.
“Our teams love delivering these gifts and witnessing the joy they bring to children, including those in our Lancashire Young Carers and Break Time services for children with disabilities.”
Rob Binns, our CEO at Cotton Court, added:
“This appeal is more than a tradition for us—it’s a way to spread joy and make a meaningful impact. We’re so proud of the incredible generosity from the local community, businesses, and schools. Without their support, we couldn’t make this happen.”
Among those contributing to this year’s appeal are Nuffield, Highfield Hybrid, Euxton Church of England Primary School, Felton’s Surplus Stores, Gloves Functions and Events, Alma, Fit Forward, We Clear Blockages, Freshfield, Lee Hayward PT, and many others.
Thank you to everyone who has donated, helped, or supported this year’s appeal—together, we’re making a difference!
