Skills and employability training works best when the space supports learning, discussion and progression. At Cotton Court Business Centre, we support organisations delivering training and recruitment activity by combining practical space, local knowledge and strong connections across the city.
We work with employers, training providers, employability teams and deliver everything from funded pre-employment programmes and compliance training to induction, onboarding and large-scale recruitment activity.
Many of the organisations we support are closely linked to what’s happening locally, whether that’s new employers opening in the area, sector growth, or funded skills programmes responding to demand.
A base that supports skills, recruitment and progression
Training delivery at Cotton Court often sits alongside wider employability, recruitment and skills activity across Preston and Lancashire. In practice, that means the space is used to support employer recruitment, sector-specific skills development, employability and progression programmes, as well as induction and upskilling for new teams.
For providers, this can help training link more naturally into real opportunities. For employers, it offers a local base to recruit from, prepare people properly, and build skills within their workforce.
Space that supports smooth delivery
When you’re delivering training, having a consistent, well-run environment makes a real difference.
Many of the organisations we work with deliver courses in blocks or run repeat cohorts. Being able to return to the same space helps sessions feel settled and familiar. Lockable rooms mean training materials, resources and paperwork can be left securely on site, rather than transported back and forth each day. Flexible layouts make it easy to adapt sessions as group sizes or formats change.
Having a friendly on-site team available throughout the day also helps delivery run smoothly. The team helps with room set-up, support trainers between sessions, and make sure learners are made to feel welcome.
The practical details that matter day to day
Our training rooms are designed to be easy to use. They benefit from natural daylight, are equipped with screens, AV and flipcharts, and are set up so trainers can arrive and get straight on with delivery.
Being based in Preston city centre makes Cotton Court easy to reach by bus or train, and means delegates have plenty of nearby food and lunch options within a short walk. Free on-site parking is also available, which trainers, assessors and visiting teams appreciate.
All areas are DDA compliant, with lift access to every floor, and we can provide risk assessments where required. For programmes that need it, we’re also able to support IT suite set-ups, with computers in place for delivery or assessment.
There are breakout areas and vending machines on site, giving people space to step away during breaks without disrupting the day.
